So, as I only just got round to starting this blog after 6 months in China, I have a lot to catch up on! I first wrote a blog for my friends and family (and myself as a form of diary) when I moved to Korea back in 2006. This was before I was a member of Facebook (although I think I had a Myspace account- whatever that is ha!) and I really enjoyed writing it and keeping everyone updated. The blog stopped somewhere in South America when I started just dumping photos onto Facebook instead. If only I had kept it going!

Over the next few weeks, I will try to post brief (not like my last Hua Shan post. Oh so long and now I’m having editing problems!) updates on all the major trips and sights we have seen over the last few months since moving back to Asia. Including our belated honeymoon trip to Myanmar/Burma and Thailand and things we have seen and done in Beijing and the rest of China. We are also making plans for a big summer trip too. I won’t be going back to 2007 and blogging all the travel we have done since then, although that would be quite a cool project!

I’m also trying to get used to WordPress, having only ever used Blogger before. It might take some time before I find a design I like and get used to all the features. I already know there are errors and things I don’t like in the posts I have done so far, but I am also having problems with my VPN and can’t edit them right now. In order to read or write a blog in China you have to use a VPN to make the internets think you are in a different country. China blocks sights like WordPress and Blogger and even news sites like The New York Times and, lately, The Guardian. Currently my VPN keeps losing connection and that’s giving me problems accessing and editing my blog. Hopefully I will get it all worked out and I will be able to regularly update this blog! Looking forward to it 🙂
